As a DevOps Engineer on contract at OpenSignal, I was responsible for managing web applications, Big Data technologies, and related services for a mobile application that provided insights into the coverage and performance of mobile operators worldwide. The work combined Django deployments, Big Data stacks (Spark, S3, Parquet, Hadoop), and AWS architecture with CloudFormation, EC2, ECS, RDS, and Route53.

  • Web applications — Built and deployed Django-based sites for OpenSignal products.
  • Big Data — Used Spark, Amazon S3, EFS, Parquet, and Hadoop to process and store large volumes of coverage and performance data.
  • DevOpsDocker, Ansible, Jenkins, CloudFormation, Sentry, Git, Jira, and Confluence for deployment, automation, and collaboration.
  • AWS architecture — Designed and implemented architectures with CloudFormation, EC2, ECS, RDS, and Route53 for scalable, reliable hosting.
  • Data infrastructure — Managed Spark/Mesos-based Big Data infrastructure for analytics and reporting.

Supporting the mobile coverage and performance insight product with Django applications, Big Data pipelines, and robust AWS infrastructure.
